Tehran Heart Hospital, formerly known as Queen Mother Hospital, was opened and began operating in 1974. This specialized heart hospital, which is considered the best heart hospital in the Middle East, is one of the largest heart hospitals in Asia and currently has more than 600 active beds and receives about 1,000 patients from different parts of the country daily. It was selected as the heart science hub of Iran.
