In November 1967, after receiving the opinion of the authorities of the University of Tehran and approving the relevant regulations, the management of the center was handed over to the Society of Supporters of the Medical Center, and the Society took responsibility for preparing and opening the center. Three months after this event, on March 18, 1967, coinciding with the Eid al-Ghadir, two physiotherapy and dental clinics of the center were also opened, followed by the Children's Health Clinic in May 1968, and the Children's Disease Clinic and the first inpatient ward in September of the same year. Finally, on November 15, 1968, the other departments of the hospital were ready and the hospital was officially opened. Initially, the hospital started with infectious diseases, kidney, blood, endocrine, surgery, emergency and specialized clinics, but gradually, with the advancement of science and the completion of the hospital's scientific staff, departments such as gastroenterology, immunology and allergy, cardiology, neonatology, rheumatology, neurology, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics and other specialized and paraclinical departments were added to it. Today, the Children's Medical Center serves as a reference children's hospital - the scientific center of pediatrics in the country with more than 350 active beds in all specialized and specialized fields of pediatric diseases.
